A organização do festival de Cannes anunciou hoje (10) a lista de filmes selecionados para a edição 2025 que acontece entre os dias 13 até 24 de maio.
Nomes conhecidos do mundinho dos filmes indie estiveram confirmados na lista depois de algumas semanas de especulações. Entre eles Wes Anderson com O Esquema Fenício, o diretor Richard Linklater com Nouvelle Vague e ainda a vencedora da Palma de Ouro Julie Ducournau com Alpha.
Mas grande destaque é que o diretor Kleber Mendonça Filho está na competição oficial com o longa O Agente Secreto estrelado por Wagner Moura.
Outras aparições promissoras e que valem a pena serem citadas da lista oficial ficam com dois filmes com título com a palavra som neles: The History of Sound do diretor Oliver Hermanus e Sound of Falling de Mascha Schilinksi. E também com o longa Sentimental Value do diretor Joachim Trier em que repete a parceira com a atriz Renate Reinsve.
O diretor Ari Aster também leva o longa Eddington, uma produção da A24 para o festival. A abertura será com Leave One Day (fora da competiçã) da diretora Amelie Bonin que faz sua estreia no cargo e o longa Missão: Impossível – O Acerto Final com Tom Cruise também fará pré-estreia no evento, fora da Competição dando as vezes do Blockbuster da edição 2025.
