O 29th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, premiação daqueles que mostram de forma justa a visibilidade da comunidade LGBT, começou a entrega de seus prêmios. A premiação aconteceu no dia 12 em Los Angeles e terminará no dia 5 de maio em Nova Iorque, com a entrega dos prêmios das outras categorias.
A cantora Britney Spears foi homenageada com o prêmio Vanguard Award, homenagem àqueles que apoiam a comunidade LGBT, enquanto o ator Jim Parsons recebeu o Stephen F. Kolzak Award, uma homenagem aos artistas LGBT.
